_Water Spirit — My Second Companion_
4
5
Bluey is the second spirit I learned to summon, and he's been a surprisingly useful addition to our little group.
6
7
I first summoned him while dealing with the Mumu near [[Locations/Ishalgen/Aldelle Village|Aldelle Village]]. Unlike [[Characters/Campanions/Sparks|Sparks]], who seems primarily interested in setting things on fire, Bluey actually helps me recover some of my magical energy when he attacks enemies.
8
9
Which is incredibly useful.
10
11
I spend magic to fight, he attacks something, and I get some of that magic back.
12
13
Honestly, it's a wonderful arrangement.
14
15
I'm not entirely sure where he gets the energy from, but I'm certainly not complaining.
16
17
### The Lake Incident
18
19
I eventually settled on the name **Bluey** during our little adventure beneath [[Tunapre Lake]].
20
21
We encountered a rather attractive woman made of water, known as the [[Lake Guardian]].
22
23
Unfortunately, she tried to drown me.
24
25
Not exactly how I imagined meeting someone new.
26
27
Sparks was NOT happy about that encounter. He's made of fire, so I suppose being surrounded by water wasn't particularly enjoyable for him.
28
29
Bluey, on the other hand, didn't seem nearly as bothered.
30
31
Which makes sense.
32
33
He's a water spirit.
34
35
It would be rather embarrassing if he were afraid of water.
36
37
Sparks is still grumpy about the whole incident. I don't think he's ever going to forgive the Guardian.
38
39
Bluey seems to have moved on.
40
41
### Life With Bluey
42
43
Having two elemental companions has made this whole adventure a little less lonely.
44
45
Sparks is great for keeping warm and helping with cooking, while Bluey has become particularly valuable whenever I need to conserve my magical energy.
46
47
I do wonder what the two of them think of each other.
48
49
Can elemental spirits even get along?
50
51
Do fire and water spirits naturally dislike one another?
52
53
Or is that just something people assume because they're opposites?
54
55
I suppose I'll find out eventually.
56
57
Either way, Bluey has been a good companion, and I'm glad to have him around.
58
59
He and Sparks even managed to stay with me during that strange encounter with [[Asahr]] and my [[Ascension]].
60
61
Considering how confusing my life has become, it's reassuring to have something familiar nearby.
62
63
Even if that something is a floating magical water creature.
64
65
### Personal Notes
66
67
- Bluey is extremely useful for recovering mana during combat.
68
69
- He seems considerably more comfortable around water than Sparks.
70
71
- I haven't figured out whether elemental spirits need to eat or sleep.
72
73
- I should probably learn more about how spirits actually work instead of just making assumptions.
74
75
- I wonder whether Bluey could help put Sparks out if he ever accidentally set something important on fire.
76
77
78
**Final note:** Don't tell Sparks I said this, but there are situations where water is considerably more useful than fire.
